World Telecom Sites principals have been in the tower business since 1968. Ronald Crider, president of WTS, purchased his first tower as a joint venture in Hollywood Florida with Joe Amaturo in the late 60’s. Crider’s first tower, venture was a 1049 foot Candelabra structure. This was one of the first multipurpose towers providing rental space to numerous Radio, TV and Communications companies.
In the 80’s Crider and his associate Paul Lansat built numerous rental towers around the US, including a 1,749 foot multipurpose tower in Orange City (Near Orlando), a 1,049 foot multipurpose tower in Jacksonville Florida, a 1,049 foot multipurpose structure in New Orleans, a 649 foot Broadcast and Communications tower on the Gandy Causeway near St. Petersburg, Florida, a 2,000 foot multipurpose tower in Dallas, North Carolina, (near Charlotte) and a 549 foot multipurpose structure in North Palm Beach, Florida. Crider and his partner Paul Lansat were the founders of Lodestar Towers, North Palm Beach at that time.
Following the sale of Lodestar Towers, Crider went on to build towers in Little Rock, Arkansas, Orangeburg, SC, Sarasota, Florida, Longmont, Colorado, and Johnstown, Colorado. Ron Crider has built or supervised well over 100 tower projects in the US, and in Central and South America. Crider and his associates have a wealth of knowledge in all aspects of the tower business based on actual tower ownership, ready to be put to work for you.
May 2015: Currently WTS has multipurpose cell/communications towers under construction in Buena Vista and Gunnison, Colorado as well as Indianapolis, Indiana and is working on projects in Papua New Guinea.
